Bodies Discovered During Fire

ALEXANDER COUNTY -- Authorities are investigating the discovery of two bodies found after a house fire in Cairo.

The fire broke out around 11:30 Monday morning in the 600 block of 37th Street.

Illinois State Police and fire officials searched the home Monday evening and were back at the scene Tuesday.

The fire is considered suspicious.

Authorities are not releasing information about the bodies found inside the house.

Autopsies on the two individuals are being conducted in Farmington, Missouri.
