Cell Phones for Soldiers

For the next month, People in Southern Illinois can help troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and by get rid of some clutter at the same time.

The "Cell Phones for Soldiers" program allows people to donate their old, unwanted cell phones for recycling.

In return the organization will purchase sixty minutes of talk-time for troops overseas.

As the holidays approach organizers say donations are important so that soldiers can talk to their families.

"This is an easy way for people here at home to donate something that they probably don't need and probably don't know what to do with," Representative John Bradley of Marion said, "And in return be able to provide valuable time for soldiers to speak to their loved ones over the holidays."

The following locations will serve as drop off points through December 15:

Benton City Hall, 500 W. Main St.
Herrin City Hall, 300 N. Park Avenue
Johnston City City Hall, 500 Washington Avenue
Marion City Hall, 1102 Tower Square
McLeansboro City Hall, 102 W. Main St.
West Frankfort City Hal, 110 N. Jefferson

Rep. John Bradley's District Office, 501 W. DeYoung, Suite 5, Marion
