Johnston City Teen Killed in Deer Related Car Accident
WILLIAMSON COUNTY-- An accident in Williamson county took the life of a local teen.
The accident happened on Monroe rd. north of Johnston City, near the Franklin County line around 6:15 p.m. Friday.
Officals say Madyson Darnell, 15 of Johnston City was killed when the car she was riding in rolled over.
Williamson County sheriff's deputies said the driver, Darnell's mother, was trying to avoid a deer.
Darnell was ejected from the vehicle, and pronounced dead an hour later.
Saturday, friends and family members of Madyson Darnell held a candle light vigil in downtown West Frankfort.
The crowd, each carrying a candle, walk together down main street to Darnell's cheerleading sign in front of the local Moose Lodge.
Those who knew Darnell want people to remember her as the girl who could light up a room with her laughter.
"She loved to laugh and that she was just a great girl, and she loved cheerleading. She was just a wonderful girl. The smile whenever you smile just think of her," said Alyssa Schloss Madyson Darnell's friend.
Funeral Arrangements for Madyson Darnell will be held at the Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 p.m to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral service will begin Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the South Point Church of God in West Frankfort.
