Williamson County Man Sentenced to 50 Years

WILLIAMSON COUNTY- Harry Schauf was sentenced to 50 years in prison Friday for shooting his wife and former Marion Police Officer Steve Cannon last year.

Friday, Schauf's wife Tina Pickens spoke out against the sentence.

Schauf was found guilty of aggravated battery with a firearm in September.

Authorities say that on September 29th of last year Schauf was arguing with his wife when he shot her and a Marion police officer who responded to the scene.

Pickens has been married to Schauf for two years. She says she's standing by her husband.

"My husband is a good man, he's a loving man, I never had an incident with him before all this, he would do anything he could for anybody, everybody in the neighborhood depended on him and called on him, he was a friend to everyone" says Pickens.

Pickens says her husband did not receive a fair trial.

The defense filed for a new trial but that motion was denied.
