H1N1 Death in Williamson County
WSIL -- A Williamson County resident has died from complications related to the H1N1 flu.
Health officials say the individual had underlying medical conditions, but they are not releasing any other information including that individual's gender or age.
Administrators with Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department say this is the first death in the department's jurisdiction.
Bi-County Health is advising anyone who has flu-like symptoms, especially those with underlying health conditions, to contact a health care professional about treatment.
Anyone experiencing the following severe symptoms should seek immediate medical care:
In Children:
· Fast breathing or trouble breathing
· Bluish skin color
· Not drinking enough fluids
· Not waking up or not interacting
· Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held
· Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough
· Fever with a rash
In Adults:
· Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
· Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen
· Sudden dizziness
· Confusion
· Severe or persistent vomiting
