Police Arrest Suspect in Shawnee Attack
ULLIN- The Illinois State Police have arrested a suspect for attack of a security guard at a local community college. State police say Daniel Brown Jr has been charged with aggravated battery. They say other charges are possible. Two juvenile males were also interviewed and released.
These surveillance photos show the three men who assaulted the guard at Shawnee Community College early this past Saturday.
College President Larry Peterson and the guard's company Southern Illinois Security- are teaming up to offer a $2,000 reward.
College officials won't comment on the victim's injuries but they say he's still under a doctor's care.
Peterson says the college has stepped up security since the attack especially at night. Investigators are not commenting on a possible motive for the crime.
