Saline County Deputy Investigation

Play Video
SALINE COUNTY- A Saline County deputy has been placed on administrative leave after firing his gun during an arrest. The name of that deputy is not being released tonight.

State Police are investigating.

The Sheriff's department says it happened while officers were chasing Aimee Taylor and Mathew Beers early this morning.

Deputies say they were staking out some anhydrous ammonia tanks near Eldorado when the two suspects approached.

Officers say the two tried to get away after deputies confronted them.

They're both in the Saline County jail.

The deputy who fired their weapon is on administrative leave pending an investigation by State Police and an internal investigation.

State police are always asked to investigate anytime an officer fires a weapon.
