Two Injured in Accident

FRANKLIN COUNTY -- Two Franklin County men were injured in a Thursday morning car accident.

The accident happened at Logan Road and Sanders Lane northeast of West Frankfort.

Captain Don Jones with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office says a 1989 Ford Bronco driven by David Briley, 47, of Thompsonville, ran off the road while trying to avoid a deer.

Briley and his passenger, Christain Briley, 28, of Benton, both suffered major injuries.

Captain Jones says the two men were airlifted to a hospital in Cape Girardeau for treatment.

The accident is still under investigation.
