Carrier Mills Fight Sends Two To Hospital
CARRIER MILLS -- Neighbors say Carline street in Carrier Mills is a quiet part of town. But Saturday night it was the scene of a fight with a deadly weapon. Police say 22 year old Natasha Mann of Carrier Mills stabbed two sisters, Angela and Tangela Guyton, Angela was cut in the face. Mann is now in the Saline County Detention Center where she faces charges of aggravated battery, unlawful use of weapons and armed violence. Carrier Mills Police Chief Bill Duncan says Mann used a small foldable knife to cut the sisters.
"I actually recovered the weapon from the victims, I don't know if the person who did the cutting dropped it or they took it away from her, but one of the others indicated she had the knife and I took it from her," said Duncan.
It's still not clear how the fight started, that part is still under investigation, but Mann told police that she didn't start it.
"She indicated to us that the two sisters jumped on her and had physically beaten her and she used a knife to defend herself, we believe it was a little excessive," said Duncan.
Angela Guyton, the sister stabbed in the face, was transferred to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for plastic surgery. The other sister Tangela received stitches for a stab wound to her back.
