Bikers Mourn After Fatal Accident
HARDIN COUNTY-- Hog Rock River Rally attendee's fired up their bikes to head home on Sunday-
But many say it's hard not to think about what happened just a day ago.
"Everybody was sad and my heart goes out for their friends and family."
On Saturday night-
State Police say three motorcycles were rear-ended by a pick-up truck as the bikers were turning onto Lamb Road from Route 1.
36 year old Charity Decker of Mattoon and 35 year old Thomas Bennett of Lerna, Illinois were killed instantly.
Riders at Hog Rock say that after they heard the terrible news- the crowd took a moment of silence for the victims, and then continued to enjoy themselves.
"I know as a biker they would expect us to carry on."
Officers say four other riders suffered injuries-
Two of them were airlifted from the scene to an Evansville Hospital- where they were admitted into intensive care.
The other two victims were treated and released from Hardin County Hospital...
Some riders say when there are a lot of motorcyclists in one area-
Accidents like this are bound to happen...
But it's not going to keep them from coming back to enjoy themselves again next year.
"I would rather enjoy myself and die happy then miss out on an opportunity to really have a good time because I'm scared."
