Consumer Alert: TV Purchases at a Low For Superbowl
WSIL-TV- In the days leading up to the Super Bowl, T-V sales are usually up. This year it's a different story.
Even with deep discounts, interest-free loans, and the Super Bowl right around the corner fewer people
are buying new T-Vs.
A report from Bloomberg says the week before the big game is typically a peak time for T-V sales, but
recent survey's show the trend likely won't continue this year.
The N-P-D group says in the U-S flat panel television sales have slowed since 2007, that doesn't mean
people won't be watching the Super Bowl though nine million more than last year are expected to tune in.
The T-V tends to be a key part of any Super Bowl party, but so is the food.
So we're passing along some consumer safety tips from the U-S-D-A. They're offering four simple tips to
those hosting a party. Clean, Separate, Cook, and Chill.
Always wash your hands and surfaces, also keep raw meat and poultry separate from cooked foods.
Use a food thermometer to make sure those foods are thoroughly cooked and to ward off bacteria
promptly put the leftovers in the fridge.
