Clinton Stops in Mayfield

Play Video
MAYFIELD, KY -- The Kentucky primary is this Tuesday. Sunday candidate Hillary Clinton criss-crossed the state in an effort to drum up support. One of her stops was in western Kentucky. In front of hundreds of her supporters in Mayfield, KY, Senator Clinton spent the majority of her speech highlighting eights years of experience in the White House and saying that she was the right candidate for the job.

"Some people criticize the 1990's and it always bewilders me, I wonder what part didn't they like, the peace or the prosperity," said Clinton.

"I loved her, I loved Bill Clinton when he was in there there was no better President," said Dorthy Watson of Paducah.

"It definitely has changed over the years and its gotten worse and i'm looking for something better," said Quincy Mayfield, a Clinton supporter.

Clinton also spoke about the ever rising gas prices, and what she calls an inappropriate relationship between President Bush and leaders in Saudi Arabia.

"I'll tell you one thing if i'm your President you won't see me holding hands with the Saudi's you'll see me holding them accountable and moving toward a better energy future," said Clinton.

"I like her cracking down on oil companies," said Donald Workman, a Mayfield resident and Clinton supporter.

Senator Clinton did acknowledge her critics who have said she should drop out of the race, but says she will be in it until the end. Hillary Clinton is expected to easily win the Kentucky primary.
