Seeking candidates for a PART-TIME TV news producer: Responsible for gathering, writing and stacking stories for various newscasts. Work with anchors, associate producers, photographers and reporters in assembling daily show line-ups. Must be extremely dependable and ability to work independently. Work with associate producers and editors and timing of the newscasts. We are looking for candidates with a college degree in broadcast journalism or related field and experience in writing, editing and producing local TV news. You must demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Part-Time Opening
WSIL-TV is seeking a part-time weekend assignment editor for Friday, Saturday, Sunday shift. Set up stories, make beat calls, monitor police and fire department scanner traffic, generate story ideas, write broadcast news copy, edit video, update website and social media websites. Additional tasks as needed in the production of newscasts and other station operations.
Candidates should have college level courses and/or professional experience in journalism and/or broadcast TV production. Must have pleasant demeanor when communicating with viewers and news sources on the phone, e-mail and in person. Good writing and editing skills required. Must be detailed oriented. Knowledge of counties and cities in Southern IL, Western KY and Southeast MO very helpful.
