WSIL-TV is seeking an On-Air weathercaster or meteorologist. Primary responsibilities include producing forecasts for other weather staff members and delivering weather forecasts for assigned newscasts. In addition to weather forecasting duties you would also be assigned to cover general assignment stories. Previous forecasting or reporting experience at a commercial broadcast or cable news operation desired. Seeking candidates for a full-time producer position. Responsible for gathering, writing and stacking stories for assigned newscasts. Work with anchors, associate producers, photographers and reporters in assembling daily show line-ups. Must provide story ideas. Supervise associate producers and editors and timing of the newscasts. WSIL-TV the ABC affiliate for the Harrisburg, IL; Cape Girardeau, MO; Paducah, KY market (79) is seeking candidates for full-time video journalist. You will shoot and report three days during the week and on weekends. Must have excellent time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. You will provide stories for TV news broadcasts, website and local newspaper. News department shoots on digital cameras and edits on FinalCut Pro. Associate Producer
This is a part-time position which involves running studio camera for morning or evening newscasts and assisting the show producer with beat checks. Knowledge of non-linear editing and Final Cut Pro editing software is desired. This is an entry level position and neither a degree nor professional experience is necessarily required. However, successful applicants generally have some professional or educational experience in video production or journalism.
