Flying High With the Young Eagles Program

By WSIL Reporter

WILLIAMSON COUNTY  --  Some kids will be flying high very soon. They'll have the chance to explore the skies along side a pilot.

It's part of the Young Eagles program hosted by Chapter 277 of the Experimental Aircraft Association. On Saturday, July 19 kids are invited meet with pilots and ask questions about aviation.

They'll also go up for a free flight starting at 9 a.m.  Rides are on a first come first serve basis and  kids must be ages 8 to 17.  The morning starts with a pancake breakfast at 8:30 a.m.
Visitors can also see the B-24 Liberator Bomber.  The program is meant to spark kids' interest in flying and give them a starting point if they'd like to get into the world of aviation.
