Miners' Fan Loses Sight, Not Love for the Game
MARION-- Since the Southern Illinois Miners were founded, Angel Marie Prince has been coming to games. The die-hard baseball fan is a regular at every home game at Rent One Park, even though she can't technically see the action.
After a genetic condition left her blind four years ago, Prince has relearned to do a lot of everyday things. That includes going to the ballpark and cheering on the Miners. She takes taxis to and from the games, with her seeing eye dog Ryder.
Prince appreciates the normalcy that attending baseball games brings her and likes being a positive role model for her two daughters, through her attitude and actions.
