Marion Suffers First Loss

MARION -- The Cahokia Comanches rolled into Marion and handed the Wildcats their first loss of the season Friday night, 28-14.

Marion (3-1) struggled offensively, committing six turnovers, all interceptions.

Cahokia (2-2) took advantage of Marion's mistakes. Comanches running back Shayeen Edwards scored on a sweep play in the second half to put them up 20-14.

After a Lewis interception, Cahokia quarterback Darby Perry found MarQuan Fridge all alone in the endzone. The two-point conversion was good making it 28-14 Cahokia.

Cahokia welcomes Carbondale next week, while Marion plays host to Mt. Vernon.
