Injuries, Greenville End Carterville's Playoff Run

By WSIL Sports

CARTERVILLE-- Carterville's option-attack duo of Michael Aschemann and Phillip Frangello combined for four first-half touchdowns, as the Lions jumped out to a 28-14 halftime advantage. The Greenville defense couldn't stop the Lions run game early, but it was a tale of two halves.

After the Lions took a 35-21 lead, Aschemann was knocked out of the game with an ankle injury. The Lions offense stalled, and backup quarterback Dalton Hoch was also knocked out of the game with an injury. Greenville capitalized, scoring 28 unanswered points, including four touchdowns by Cameron Walter.

Carterville finishes the season (8-4).
