Herrin Armed Robberies

HERRIN - Herrin Police are investigating at least two armed robberies that have occurred in the city and are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects.

The first armed robbery occurred on Wednesday, June 13, 2011 at about 10:00 p.m. at the ZX Gas Station located at 701 S. Park Ave in Herrin. Officers responded to a 911 call to the ZX Gas Station in reference to an armed robbery. Upon arrival, the officers discovered the suspect had already fled the scene. An employee of ZX stated that a black male wearing a mask entered the ZX Gas Station and displayed a hand gun and demanded money. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

The second armed robbery occurred on July 29, 2011 around 9:53 p.m. at the Little Caesars Pizza located at 1121 South Park Avenue. Herrin Police received a 911 call and upon arrival, Little Caesars employees stated that two unknown black male suspects entered Little Caesars wearing masks and displayed a hand gun and demanded money. The suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money prior to the officer’s arrival. The video was taken from Little Caesars Pizza surveillance camera.
