JOHNSTON CITY -- Carmi, coming off a loss last week at home, took out their anger on Johnston City Monday night, defeating the Indians 42-12.

The game was rescheduled from Friday night due to the reminence from Hurricane Isaac.

Last year the Bulldogs routed the Indians in Carmi. Johnston City (1-1) was hoping for a different outcome this time around.

Running back Jory Kee did his best Monday to make sure that didn't happen again. Taking the handoff and dashing up the middle to get the Indians on the board.

But Carmi (1-1) wasn't having any of it. Dylan Rankin took a 10 yard toss in for a touchdown to put the Bulldogs on top 16-6 late in the first quarter.

Carmi wouldn't look back from there. Quarterback Chase Sailor added to that lead a little later on this QB counter for a 29 yard TD scamper down the sideline.

Johnston City just couldn't get anything going offensively Monday. They finally mounted a late drive into Bulldog territory but it stalled when JC QB Levi Tanner's pass was picked off by Dakota Jolley at the 2 yard line.

Carmi spoils Johnston City's home opener 42-12. Next week Carmi will host Chester, while Johnston City travels to CZR.
