Paducah Man Arrested for Robbery, Assault
PADUCAH -- One person is in custody in connection with a Sunday night shooting in Paducah.
Michael S. Stotts, 36, of Paducah, has been arrested on charges of two counts of first-degree robbery, second-degree assault and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Police say Stotts was armed with a shotgun when he entered a home in the 1100 block of Palm Street just after 10 p.m. Sunday and demanded money.
Stotts and a man inside the home struggled over the gun before Stotts shot the victim in the foot and took money from the victim's girlfriend.
The victim, his girlfriend and a child fled the home as officers arrived.
The SWAT team was called in, but Stotts was gone when they entered the home.
Stotts was found around 10:30 a.m. Monday walking near 14th Street and H.C. Mathis Drive. Police say Stotts admitted to the robbery and shooting and told officers where to find the gun.
Stotts was booked into the McCracken County Jail. Police continue to investigate.
