Kentucky Deputies Arrest Man For Burglary, Find Explosives Stash

MCRACKEN CO. -- A McCracken County man is behind bars on some serious charges after deputies say he entered a home while the homeowner was still inside.

 
Officials say it happened around 4:20 a.m. Saturday, on the 4000 block of Magruder Road. The homeowner was hiding in the closet when the intruder found her there. Deputies say she confronted him a handgun and he fled.
 
By that time a sergeant had arrived, and he chased and tackled down 42-year-old Jon Mullins. Deputies also found a stash of the homeowner's belongings hidden near the driveway.
     
When they searched Mullins's home behind the Lone Oak High School, they found multiple homemade explosives, including pipe bombs and IEDs. He also had ammunition, tear gas, and bulletproof vests. The
Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms was called in to assist.
   
Mullins has been charged with numerous offenses, federal charges are pending.
