Wreck Closes Westbound Lanes on I-24

Police have ticketed the driver responsible for a wreck that shut down westbound Interstate 24 for several hours last night.
It happened about 7 p.m. Wednesday near mile marker 15 north of Vienna.
Illinois State Police say the driver of a van lost control on ice and struck a concrete guardrail. The van then swerved back into traffic and was hit by a semi.
Six people were in the van at the time -- including four children.
Three medical helicopters and two ambulances were called in.
Illinois State Police say all those injured are recovering, but would not comment on their conditions.
The driver of the van was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions, and child restraint violations.
JOHNSON CO.-- A bad wreck on interstate-24 shuts down traffic Wednesday night.
The Johnson County Sheriff's Department says the wreck happened near mile marker 16 in Johnson County. The Sheriff's department says a semi hit a van with six people inside.
Three airvac helicopters were called in to take people to the hospital.
