VIENNA -- Vienna-Goreville junior running back Connor Seavers ran for two touchdowns as the Eagles beat SVWW 14-6 in the program's first playoff win Saturday afternoon in Vienna.

"It's a special feeling that coach called my number to give me the chance to get that go ahead touchdown," said Seavers. "To actually get it, that was a surreal moment in my life, it's really fun to play on this team."

Head Coach Mike Rude says he's thankful for his team's athleticism, especially on the last play of the game.

"That last play of the ballgame right there was a 6'7" player against a basketball player," explains Rude. "Thank God we have an athlete that's able to jump and do what he did."

The Red Devils finish the season 6-4. The Eagles improve to 7-3.

Vienna-Goreville advances to play top-seeded Greenville (9-1) next weekend. The Comets beat Anna-Jonesboro 55-27 Saturday.
