Cobden Awarded $2.3 Million Grant

By WSIL Manager

COBDEN -- The Village of Cobden will receive more than $2 million to improve its water system.

The $2.3 million USDA Rural Development grant will be used for a water and waste disposal infrastrucure project.

"Cobden desperately needs these funds to build water treatment infrastructure that can handle the area's needs," said U.S. Congressman Bill Enyart. "This grant will support job creation in Union County, and provide for better water treatment. Cobden is thriving with locally owned restaurants, art galleries, antique shops, and more - this project will only aid in the growth and development of the area."
