The Game of Golf Must Go On

By WSIL Sports

HARRISBURG -- Even though there is snow and ice piled up on the fairways and greens at this time of the year. The game of golf can still be played by using one of these, an inside golf simulator, just like the one at Simsburg Indoor Golf in Harrisburg.

"This is the only place to play at this time of the year," said Simsburg Indoor Golf owner Daniel Dixon. "It would be hard to find the ball out there with all the snow on the ground. It is just a place for friends to come and have a good time."

Harrisburg golfer, Ben Fowler Spends a lot of his time practicing his swing at Simsburg during the winter. He spends time on the driving range, working on the greens, or playing a round of golf at 50 different PGA courses.

"During the winter I am here almost everyday and even in the summer I am here quite a lot too," said Harrisburg sophomore golfer Ben Fowler. "I use this place probably more than anybody else that has been a customer here. It has definitely helped my game a lot."

"He plays a lot in the winter to be ready for the spring session," said Dixon. "His tournaments start pretty early in March and he wants to be ready."

The indoor golf facility also provides beginners with an atmosphere to learn the game of golf at their own pace.

"Everything here is private sessions," said Dixon. "You come in here with no intimidations. You can bring your own refreshments because you are going to be here for awhile to play a round."

So don't fret golf lovers, you don't have to wait till spring to hit the links anymore.
