ELDORADO -- When Brandon Hampton took over as head football coach at Eldorado back in 2008, the team had less than 30 kids come out.

Fast forward to 2013, and the Eagles have more than doubled that number.

Eldorado will be looking to shake off a tough 2012 season that started with great promise, but ended with four straight losses and no playoff spot.

Eldorado has added Hall of Fame coach Al Way to the staff, a move that Hampton says has helped the team in all phases of the game.

The Eagles will open the season Friday night at Sesser-Valier/Waltonville/Woodlawn. The Red Devils ended Eldorado's playoff hopes last year with a 28-20 win at Eldorado in week nine.
