DU QUOIN -- Du Quoin dominated the battle of the Indians Saturday, beating Johnston City 47-12 in the Class 2A football playoffs.

Johnston City (7-3) scored first with a Tyler Johnson touchdown.

After that it was all DuQuoin. They returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown, then intercepted Johnston City quarterback Levi Tanner and took it for a touchdown.

DuQuoin (8-2) had a 13-6 halftime lead while only running five offensive plays.

DuQuoin's offense got rolling in the second half. Brenden Fred called his own number for a TD. On the next drive, Fred found Daulton Donoghue on a TD toss as the Indians cruise to the win.

DuQuoin will head to undefeated Bismarck-Henning (10-0) next week.
