Du Quoin Police Investigating Armed Robbery

DU QUOIN -- Authorities have one person in custody after an armed robbery in Du Quoin Friday afternoon.

The Du Quoin Police Department says three men entered the Shell Gas Station on west Main Street just after two Friday afternoon.  

One of the suspects displayed a hand gun and demanded money from the register.  That suspect then hit the gas station attendant with his hand gun, and the three men fled the store.

Investigation led to the arrest of Jeremy Shered, 26, of Centrailia. Shered was located in Carbondale early Friday evening, he was arrested on armed robbery charges.  Two other suspects remain at large.

DU QUOIN -- Authorities are investigating an armed robbery in Du Quoin.

It happened about 2:07 p.m. Friday at the Shell gas station on the west side of town.

A manager at the station tells News 3 that two men wearing masks and armed with guns entered the store and demanded money.

Du Quoin Police are investigating. Stay with News 3 for updates.
