DU QUOIN -- This is the first season that Elverado will co-op will Du Quoin's football team and 14 members from the Falcons have joined with the Indians. Those members hope hope to add a spark to a team that missed the playoffs last season.

Du Quoin finished the year at a mark of 3-6. The Indians have only missed the playoffs twice in the last 26 years, during Al Martin's tenure as head coach. Obviously, Du Quoin's main focus is to return to the playoffs this season.

A big reason why this team feels like it can accomplish that goal is due to the play of the Indians offensive and defensive lines.

"We have some experience coming back at those positions and we have depth at those positions. So, I think that is the strength of our team is our offensive and defensive line," said Martin.

"Offensive and defensive lines win games and I think that we can get the job done and I hope we can do it," said Du Quoin senior quarterback A.J. Smith.

Du Quoin kicks-off the regular season at home against Highland on August 29th.
