American Thresherman Show in Pinckneyville

By Rachel Duensing

PERRY COUNTY --  A 55-year-old tradition continues this weekend in Perry County. The American Threshermen show began Wednesday night in Pinckneyville and will continue through Sunday. The attractions include 100-year-old steam engines, threshing exhibitions and plowing activities.

Gaylen Greer, a director from the American Thresherman Association, says no matter what your age there is something for everyone to enjoy.

"This is a very family friendly show," Greer says. "There's something for everyone from two to 102."

While most visitors to the show are local to southern Illinois, some travel from around the U.S. and Canada. Admission to the show is seven dollars, but parking is free.
