MASSAC CO. -- Illinois State Police now say a 47-year-old woman and two male friends were "illegally riding" a freight train near the Round Knob area when the woman fell off.
She was flown to a hospital in St. Louis in serious condition.
Illinois State Police continue to investigate.

MASSAC CO. -- Massac County authorities have released more information about a person who fell from a train Tuesday night.
The Massac County Sheriff's Office says a woman fell from a freight train north of Metropolis just before 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Several agencies were called to help in the search. Chad Kaylor, investigator for the Massac County Sheriff's Office, says the woman was found around 11:30 p.m. south of New Columbia Road in the Round Knob area.
"Someone that was probably train-jumping, and we do believe that alcohol was a factor," said Kaylor.
According to Kaylor, the woman was airlifted from Massac County with severe injuries. Her current condition is not known.
Illinois State Police have taken over the investigation. Calls to that department have not been returned.
MASSAC COUNTY -- Emergency responders launched a search for a person who fell from a train in Massac County late Tuesday night.
Authorities have not released any details on who they may be looking for, but the county fire department did confirm the search is centered in the Round Knob area. Round Knob is a community about six miles north of Metropolis.
