PEORIA -- Nashville won its second state softball title in 11 years beating Williamsville 6-2 in the class 2A state softball championship game Saturday night at the EastSide Centre in Peoria.

Nashville (35-4) scored half its runs in the fifth inning. Sophomore shortstop Kiley Pelker led the Hornettes with four hits. She also scored three runs. Junior first baseman Shaye Harre also a breakout game with two doubles, three RBI and a walk.

In the circle, freshman pitcher Maci Ingram picked up the win, striking out 11 batters. She struck out 25 of the 57 batters she faced in the final two games in Peoria.
