Jefferson County Teen Dies From Gunshot Wound
JEFFERSON CO.- Police say the death of a 14-year-old boy was a "tragic accident".
Around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, December 30 police responded to a 911 call in the rural city of Nason, Illinois. Upon arrival deputies found the body of 14-year-old Kevin Green Jr. outside the family home.
The Jefferson County Coroner says the boy died from accidental discharge of a firearm.
Police say the death appears to be a tragic accident, and they believe that no foul play was involved.
Authorities say they will continue to investigate the accident.
A visitation for Green will be held on Tueday from 4-8 p.m. at Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Free Will Baptist Church in Nason.
