CARBONDALE -- SIU students could be paying higher tuition and fees again this fall.

University officials are seeking a tuition hike of about $250 for the 2014-2015 school year. They also propose raising various fees, including athletics and maintenance.

Those fee hikes would add up to about $100.

"We've got a number of fees that are small dollar amount fees that all relate to increasing costs," said SIU spokesperson Rae Goldsmith.

The SIU Board of Trustees will discuss the cost increases at its meeting Thursday. A vote is expected sometime this spring.
