Salukis Slam Penguins, Move Atop MVFC

YOUNGSTOWN, OH. -- The SIU football team moved into a tie for first place in the Missouri Valley Football Conference with a 38-21 win at Youngstown State Saturday.

The Salukis (5-3, 4-1) fell behind 14-3 early in the first half but managed to score two touchdowns before the break to make it 21-17. The Penguins (4-3, 1-3) got three first half rushing touchdowns from Jamaine Cook.

But the tide turned Southern's way in the second half. The Dawgs forced five turnovers and finished the game with 28 unanswered points to extend their winning streak to three games.
