Salukis Fell Short Against Sycamores

 TERRE HAUTE -- SIU men's basketball team led 27-24 at halftime against Indiana State on Saturday at the Hulman Center. 

However, Indiana State rallied back to take a 60-57 lead with less than 15 seconds to go in the game. SIU had a chance to tie but Desmar Jackson's shot bounced off. SIU's Anthony Beane pulled down the loose ball but his attempt was blocked. SIU recovered the ball again and SIU head coach Barry Hinson called a timeout. SIU wasn't able to get a final attempt off as the Sycamores hung on to pick up the 60-57 win. 

SIU struggled from the free throw line again. The Salukis made just 13-24 free throw attemtps. Indiana State made 14-18 free throw attempts. 

Jackson led the Salukis in scoring with 19 points. Beane added 18 points. 

SIU dropped to 10-17 overall and 6-8 in conference play. Indiana State improved to 20-6 and 11-3 in conference play.
