SIU Slams SEMO, Wins First Game

CARBONDALE -- SIU needed a win in the worst way Saturday.

Luckily for the Salukis, they got it, beating Southeast Missouri State 35-14 in their home opener at Saluki Stadium.

SIU (1-2) started strong, scoring twice in the game's first ten minutes. Quarterback Kory Faulkner had a career day, completing 26 passes for 384 yards and three touchdowns. Mika'il McCall led all rushers with two touchdowns and 94 yards.

The Salukis had no trouble moving the ball, racking up a Saluki Stadium record 565 yards of total offense.

SIU opens conference play next Saturday at Missouri State. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
