Big Muddy Monster Brew Fest Draws Large Crowd
MURPHYSBORO -- The Big Muddy Monster Brewfest in Murphysboro kicked off it's fourth year Saturday afternoon.
More than a thousand people met at Riverside Park for the annual tradition. The festival allows local breweries a chance to show off their beer. There were over 50 breweries represented and 200 different craft beers.
All of the money made from Saturday's event goes to the Friend's of Murphysboro, which is an organization dedicated to improving the city.
"This is an opportunity, not only to showcase what Friends of Murphysboro do, but bring in local businesses that are doing really unique things and are ready representing Southern Illinois very well," says volunteer Steven Bost.
Bost says the festival allows tourists and Friends of Murphysboro to put money back into community.
