Albertini Excited About Opportunity With Terriers' Football

By WSIL Sports

CARBONDALE -- Carbondale high school recently approved the hiring of Mark Albertini as its new head football coach.

Albertini has been an assistant coach on the Terriers' football team for the past 10 years. Albertini is replacing Nick Hill, who is now the quarterbacks coach for SIU's football team.

"I have been here 10 years now and this is just a great opportunity for myself now," said Albertini. "I love this school and this community and I have been around these kids for awhile now. I have watched them grow up through our program. It is just a wonderful opportunity to coach these young men. We are going to see a fast paced, up-tempo offensive system. We have a lot of athletes and we are ready to use them on Friday nights and let these athletes show Southern Illinois just how good of athletes they really are here."
