West Frankfort Football Looking Up

By WSIL Sports

WEST FRANKFORT -- After an 0-9 season last year, things are looking up in West Frankfort.

First-year head coach Brian Beery says he's happy with his team's progress after two days of practice but admits it'll take some time before everything clicks.

The players are learning a new system and getting accustomed to a new coaching staff.

But both Berry and his players say the culture is changing at Redbirds camp.

The Redbirds have won just three games over the last three seasons.

They open the year at home against Anna-Jonesboro.
