BENTON -- School starts next month and Walmart stores are collecting supplies for needy kids.

The Benton Walmart now has a bus out front to remind people to donate. Boxes are sitting in the store's entries for people to fill with backpacks, notebooks, and other supplies.

Walmart holds this event every year as a way to give back to the community.

"This is just is a good way to help reduce some of the burden on parents with the economy like it is," says Benton shift manager Kelly Wright.

The donation boxes will be set up until school begins then distributed to students.
