SESSER -- Sesser-Valier-Waltonville-Woodlawn is looking to bounce back this year, after it finished last season with a 2-7 record. Before last season, the Red Devils had qualified for the playoffs four years in a row.

The Red Devils are led by first year head coach Mike McKee, who is focused on building a family atmosphere in the program.

"What we are going to do this year is try and continue what coach Hollis tried to teach," said McKee. "The same things about trust and family and caring about one another. Try and bring energy to the program and try and continue things that we believe are the right way."

"Coach McKee has been on the staff for a couple years so it's not like bringing in a whole new guy and he is part of the family," said SVWW senior quarterback Nick Marlo. "We love him and I was personally excited to hear when he got the head coaching job and he is doing a lot of great things and I am very excited for the season."

Now the Red Devils open the season on August 29th at Eldorado. Kick-off for the game is set for 7 p.m.
