Panthers' Streak Continues

BENTON -- The streak lives on. The Pinckneyville Panthers extended their winning streak to 41 at the Benton Invitational Tournament with a 53-39 win over the host Rangers Monday night.

Benton grabbed an early four point lead, but Pinckneyville used a big second quarter to take control.

The Panthers outscored the Rangers 18-5 in the second to lead 27-14 at the half.

Benton cut it to seven in the third, but could get no closer.

In the earlier games, Carlyle downed Okawville 47-40, and Sesser-Valier beat Hamilton County 51-45.
