Marion Doctor Continues to Recover from Blast Injuries
MARION -- A Marion doctor severely injured in a Florida explosion is slowly recovering.
Last month, an explosion at Dr. Luis Lopez's vacation home in Destin, Florida killed Michael Brower of Benton. It also left Lopez in critical condition.
The cause of that blast is still under investigation, but it is believed to be accidental.
Lopez had been staying in a hospital in Florida. He was recently moved to rehabilitation facility.
Staff at his practice, Heartland Pediatrics, continue to see patients. Many of those children have also been leaving well-wishes for their doctor.
Lopez has been communicating with the office and plans to return to work once he recovers.
