Run to Live Longer
WSIL -- A new study finds running only a few minutes a day, even at slow speeds, may significantly decrease your risk for cardiovascular disease.
Researchers spent 15 years studying more than 55,000 adults between the ages of 18 and 100. They found that compared with non-runners, runners had a 30 percent lower risk of death from all causes.
Heart disease and stroke death risks dropped by nearly half. Researchers say promoting running is as important as preventing smoking, obesity, or high blood pressure.
