Investigation Leads to Drug Bust in Paducah
PADUCAH KY.- After investigating a cocaine drug dealer for over two months, police have a arrested a man in connection with dealing drugs across three states.
Four area law enforcement agencies worked on the investigation which revealed that Martin Acosta of Chicago, Illinois was transporting large amounts of cocaine to at least three different states.
On Saturday, Police saw that Acosta was delivering a large amount of cocaine. Detectives observed him make a drug transaction and he was arrested without incident. A female, Llasmin Lopez, was in a car with Acosta at the time of the arrest. She tried to flee the scene while carrying her infant. Police were able to stop her and she was arrested as well.
Over ten ounces of cocaine worth over $10,000 was retrieved from Acosta's vehicle.
Both Acosta and Lopez are illegal immigrants from Mexico. They are both being held at the McCracken County Jail, and Acosta is being held under a federal detainer.
The investigation is still continuing.
