House Fire Kills Two Teens

POPLAR BLUFF, MO.- An overnight house fire in Poplar Bluff killed two teens.

Firefighters say the fire occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning on Relief St.

The Poplar Bluff Fire Chief says a 12-year-old and a 16-year-old died from the blaze, but the three other occupants in the home managed to get out safely.

Fire offiicials say they are still investigating how the fire started, but they believe it may have been accidental.

Fire officials say no working smoke detectors were found in the home. They want to remind residents that they can always pick up a free smoke detector at the Poplar Bluff Fire station if they need one.
