Weather Photo of the Day

By WSIL Reporter

WSIL -- Summer across southern Illinois is typically filled with heat, humidity, and of course, bugs. One of the largest insects found in southern Illinois and easily identifiable is the Luna Moth. It's pale green color, eyespots on the wings, and large size (up to a 7" wingspan) make it easy to spot. With that being said, they're rarely seen because the Luna Moth is nonturnal and adults only live for around a week to simply mate.

Each day on News 3 This Morning we feature a weather or nature related photo sent to us from you, the viewer. You can share one either on our Facebook page or you can e-mail Thanks for sharing!
