New in the Neighborhood: June 30, 2014

By WSIL Reporter

WSIL  --  A few new places of prayer are opening their doors in our region. That's just a couple of the things that are new in the neighborhood this week.

A new church is on the rise in Benton. Grace Baptist Fellowship is almost complete. Their new building was 10 years in the making. It's right between Benton and West Frankfort off of Highway 37. Their first service will be this Sunday, but they're still have some finishing touches to put on their new place.

And another new church is going up in Sesser. Eternal Friends in Christ Church is getting their very own place to worship. For the last few years they've been gathering at a banquet hall. Construction should be finished by the end of summer. But they got a lot of help building from a group of Baptist volunteers from Alabama. Eternal Friends in Christ is the only church of its kind.
There will be a new place to stop for gas right off of the Interstate in Marion. Casey General Store is still under construction on Main Street. The gas station will also have a small convenience store along with carry-out food. It's set to open October 2.
