New in the Neighborhood: July 7, 2014

By WSIL Reporter

WSIL  --  Independence Day has come and gone, but people around southern Illinois are still celebrating the American Dream.

A new Marion business is bringing you dog grooming with a twist.  Erica's Doggie Stylez offers cage-free grooming along with boarding and daycare. She opened her shop because she wanted a place were her dogs were able to socialize. Doggie Stylez also has a dog park in back that's open to the public. It's $3 dollars per dog and you must have their current vaccination records.  They're holding a open house Sunday, July 13 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Also in Marion, a new memory center for seniors is under construction. It will be the "anchor" of the River to River Residential Community.  They'll offer single and double apartment style assisted living.
The 60 unit complex is set for completion in about a year.
Construction of Moe's Southwest Grill in Mt. Vernon is well underway.  The casual, fast food style restaurant chain has its own take on Mexican style cuisine and salads.  It's one of three businesses going into the strip center off of Broadway Street. Moe's is expected to open by late summer or early fall.
